It works well and is easy to use and clean. I always forgot to put it back in the freezer to use for next time but definitely recommend for someone who would remember to put it back in the freezer.
The color and size were perfect. It fit a good 8-12oz coffee. And did not affect the coffee taste.
One small thing - take the coffee tank off and clean it. I thought running clear water through the same way the coffee went in would clean it. Nope. Residue of uncertain properties came out after I inverted the chiller into a bowl after four uses. We now have a clean machine. Every time. Nice.
Otherwise, here's what happens. When you freeze it, the expanding ice exerts a bit of outward pressure, causing the plastic to bulge a bit. If you use it and then put it right back in the freezer, there's an outer "shell" of still frozen ice holding the plastic in that bulged condition, but then the melted portion refreezing pushes outward a bit more, causing more of a bulge. After repeating this cycle several times, the plastic finally gives and cracks.
So, what you need to do is let it COMPLETELY thaw before putting it back in the freezer, which allows the slight bulge to relax again, rather than constantly being pushed outward a bit more each time. Unfortunately, this does make the Hyperchiller less convenient to use. How I get around that is to always make two cups in a row (letting the second one sit for a longer time, to chill it more and to let the Hyperchiller fully thaw). It helps to keep two of them in the freezer.
Also, it should be noted that the metal version of this product does not appear susceptible to this problem... I've used that one repeatedly, not letting it fully thaw between uses for the past several months, and it's fine so far.
My only tip is to use this with coffee made straight in a coffee maker or is in a container with some sort of spout. Only because I basically made my instant coffee with all the fixings and then had to pour it into the container, spilling due to coffee mugs' inability to be good for pouring (or perhaps I just rolled low on my skill check).
If you use a french press or any coffeemaker where it basically pours into a pitcher it'll negate that complaint though. And it makes about one cup of chilled coffee so if you want more be ready to be making and shaking for a bit.
However, I am one person who doesn't share her coffee, so it was perfect for me!
Por lo demás, puedes vertir el café caliente directo y el enfriador lo va a dejar su mamá te frio en alrededor de un minuto y medio. The cooler works quite well, however, I see several negatives, first of all the capacity of the glass being very small, besides the fact that because it has a very small hole (which I imagine serves as a valve) in the upper part where you empty the liquid, you have to constantly wash and replace the ice to prevent it from keeping the odors of the liquids you pour into it, another is that washing is not that easy since you have to wait for it to defrost in order to open it and clean the containers, which makes it something very impractical.
For the rest, you can pour the hot coffee directly and the cooler will let your mom cool you in about a minute and a half.
