I wish it could change from doing a feet/in measurement to just all inches. It would definitely make it a bit easier instead of having to do the conversions separately. I do also wish it would tell you if it's rounding up or down too. Otherwise, this device is solid. I used this to measure my windows for an interior shade mount install. made the process so much easier and all the shades fit like a glove.
Don't buy outside of bosch, just upgrade the model if you need more advanced features like automatic area/volume measurements, or the ability to add to a measurement.
Accuracy That’s Spot On
The precision is phenomenal. I’ve used it side-by-side with a tape measure on multiple projects, and the laser is dead accurate every single time — no second-guessing or human error. For things like fitting blinds or cutting trim where every millimeter matters, it’s been a lifesaver.
Incredibly Useful for DIY
I do a lot of woodworking and home improvement projects, and this has completely replaced my measuring tape in most cases. No more wrestling with curled tape or trying to hold it steady. I just point, click, and go. Measuring long distances (especially solo) is now a one-person job.

This is honestly one of those tools I didn’t know I needed — now I can’t imagine working without it. If you’re into home projects, woodworking, or just want more accurate and hassle-free measuring, get this. You won’t regret it!
It would have been great but it was a few inches off. I could not find a calibration routine and perhaps I got a defective unit.
I had to use a tape and was done with my need so returned it.
Seeing good reviews and this being a reliable brand I think they usually are accurate and I didnt have time to wait to exchange it. I have laser lavels and other accurate time saving tools and am giving it a good rating as I had no time to troubleshoot with Bosch.

2- Especially on dark surfaces that tilt >45-degree - that is the laser beam incident angle is more than 45 degree from the normal, the measurements were unreliable. The reason is that the back-scattered light was insufficient.
3- It doesn't have any leveling bubble. The bottom contact is too small to ensure the laser beam is square (normal) to the rest surface.
4- The lack of data storage and bluetooth data transfer capability makes it less convenient compared to competing devices for surveying jobs that require many measurement entries.
In summary, it might be a good device for less than 50 ft and simple measurements. I used the triangulation surveying method (like GPS) which requires a lot of measurements, and it is just too inconvenient to use paper and pencil to write down 100's of data points. So, for a few quick, simple measurements, it might get 5 stars, but for distanced, systematic and extensive surveying measurements, it is 3 stars - compared to more advanced devices with data storage, transfer, and even built-in functions. Average: 4 stars.
