Works great. I wish there were lower heat settings though.
I eat slowly as well as my older daughter. Oftentimes, she eats while doing craft work and will take up to an hour to finish her lunches or dinners. Of course, the hot food gets cold quickly and sometimes needs to be microwaved.
With this warming mat, she can keep her food warm until the end of her meals, which is great. It has six temperature settings, allowing her to choose how hot she wants to keep her food. According to its webpage, it can be set to shut off after one to six hours.
I do not know if this food warming mat is certified for safety by any respectable organizations, such as UL (Underwriters Laboratories), CE (Conformité Européenne), ETL (Electrical Testing Laboratories), PSE Mark (Product Safety Electrical Appliance & Material), CSA (Canadian Standards Association), and by RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances). Since this mat generates a good amount of heat and it involves foods, I believe that the manufacturer needs to get certification from RoHS if it has not done it yet.
Normally, the manufacturer shows such certifications on its product, but this warming mat does not show any. Its webpage does not mention any certification. I misplaced and cannot find its user manual, so I do not know if they show the certifications in there or not. This mat needs at least one safety certification from one of the previously mentioned organizations.
The unit does heat quickly and will be easy to store.
Seting up and toggling through to the temperature you want is quick and simple. Was expecting something closer to the size of a cookie sheet, but this mat has room! If you were thinking the plates in the photo were little things, confirm the measurements. A large turkey or multiple batches of dough won't be a problem. If space on your counter is limited, you'll be especially pleased it's easy to roll up for storing. It's too big for us, so brainstorming where best to store it.
